Implementing an X-ray tomography method for fusion devices

چکیده

Abstract In fusion devices, the X-ray plasma emissivity contains essential information on magnetohydrodynamic activity, magnetic equilibrium and transport of impurities, in particular for tokamaks soft (SXR) energy range 0.1–20 keV. this context, tomography diagnostics are a key method to estimate local from given set line-integrated measurements. Unfortunately, reconstruction problem is mathematically ill-posed, due very sparse noisy measurements, requiring an adequate regularization procedure. The goal paper introduce, with didactic approach, some methodology tools develop algorithm. Based simple 1D problem, Tikhonov described detail study optimal parameters, such as choice spatial resolution parameter. A proposed perform situ sensitivity position cross-calibration detectors iterative procedure, by using redundancy data variability reconstructed profiles. Finally, basic steps build synthetic more realistic tokamak environment introduced, together assess capabilities 2D

An iterative method to estimate x-ray attenuation coefficients in computed tomography

Introduction: The basis of image formation in Computed Tomography (CT) lies in the x-ray linear attenuation coefficient of the scanned material. Compton scattering and photoelectric effect are the dominant interactions of the x-ray photons with the subject, in the range of diagnostic radiology. These two coefficients are important in tissue characterization by Dual-Energy CT (D...

Introducing an Optimized Method for Obtaining X-ray Diffraction Patterns of Biological Tissues

Introduction Individual X-Ray diffraction patterns of biological tissues are obtained via interference of coherent scattering with their electrons. Many scientists have distinguished normal and cancerous breast tissue, bone density, and urinary stone types using the X-Ray diffraction patterns resulting from coherent scattering. The goal of this study was to introduce an optimized method for obt...

Empirical correlation for porosity deduction from X-ray computed tomography (CT)

For obtaining reservoir petrophysical properties, for example porosity, non-destructive methods such as X-ray computed tomography, CT, seems to be precise and accurate. Porosity is deducted from the CT image with a single scan via different techniques, such as pore space detection by image segmentation techniques then correlation with porosity. More than one hundred samples with carbonate li...

X-ray computed tomography.

X-ray computed tomography (CT), introduced into clinical practice in 1972, was the first of the modern slice-imaging modalities. To reconstruct images mathematically from measured data and to display and to archive them in digital form was a novelty then and is commonplace today. CT has shown a steady upward trend with respect to technology, performance and clinical use independent of predictio...

Validation of an Alkali Reaction, Borate Fusion, X-ray Fluorescence Method for Silicon Metal

The value assignment of candidate Standard Reference Material (SRM) 57b Silicon Metal provided an opportunity to develop an alkali reaction procedure as a precursor to borate fusion for the preparation of test specimens from the metal powder for X-ray fluorescence spectrometry (XRF). Suggested for this purpose by Blanchette (Adv. X-Ray Anal., 45, 415, 2002), the alkali reaction uses LiOH·H2O to...
